So have you ever thought what is there in your life which is ruining everything????
So lets talk about Insecurity ….!
What is insecurity?
Insecurity is a feeling of inadequacy (not being good enough) and uncertainty. It produces anxiety about your goals, relationships, and ability to handle certain situations.
- We have all felt this in our life. The thing which gives birth to insecurities, is our fear which leads us into this. And why so?
Mostly it comes from inside our self, it is a personal failing .The feeling can start early in life with an insecure attachment to your parents, or can develop after being hurt or rejected by someone you care about, Anxiety about oneself and specially lack of confidence .
Insecurity are maintained and build upon when you compare yourself to others and judge yourself with critical inner dialogue. As I said the origin of it is our own Fear. Fear of loosing you loved ones or that you are not good enough, that you will not be OK without that particular person & you will never find anyone better .
Here are some types of insecurity you have seen at least for once -
- Not wanting to take part in something out of your comfort zone.
- Worried about your appearance.
- Feeling less confident.
- Jealous of someone on social media (Instagram, snapchat, twitter).
- Jealously in Friendship or any Relationship.
Here's how I would recommend working with the feeling of insecurity :-
1).Don't act on your feeling of insecurity
You will feel bad , anxiety and a lot of stress . But don't panic on that situation , just stay calm. Notice your first urge , what action you want to take ... but don't follow the urge . It might be to judge someone , complain, lash out, run to distractions, procrastinate, comfort yourself, shut your heart down, hide, avoid, quit. Don't take that action. Just stay in the insecurity for now. It is just a part of our human experience, nothing to panic about it.
Insecurity can be the reason of your partner's changed behavior, or low self-esteem, or when at stress.
If your partner feels insecure then you can do this things , act of kindness over insecurity.......
- Make them feel important and realize them that they are better and enough.
- Support your partner.
- Build their confidence.
- Talk healthy and make time for them.
- Gain their trust.
2).Be Fearless
Ok so if your gut feeling is right about that person, that he/she might be doing something inappropriate then without any fear you should speak up and try to communicate without making any scene in front of people. Insecurity has many faces and all of them are mostly fear. It's easy to feel guilty when we recognize insecurities and realize after the facts how it's hurts us. But punishing our self for someone who don't value and respect your feeling of this insecurity .
I use two main techniques to break this cycle. The first is affirmations. Yeah, affirmations may seem silly, but it’s all about retraining how we think. You have these negative messages in your head, right? Well, replacing them with positive messages is where affirmations come in.
I start each day with one so the first thing I’m thinking about myself is positive.
Do not compare yourself with others . Instead of being jealous appreciate them for what they have, that's what you are and that's what will define your true nature.
I am a beautiful person and I love myself . I am a confident person. I am worthy of love on all the level.
3).You're a strong person
Accept that its all right to feel insecure. If you'll be strong then only you can defeat insecurity otherwise weakness will kill you from inside.
Judging someone on the basis of their physical appearance and making them feel bad about themselves is not less than a brutal act of unkindness. Believe in yourself and never give that person any reason to make you feel that way. If they are making you feel insecure , tell them to stop . Aware of your worth.
Remember Fear and Insecurity is a sign of a Strong person. Don't ever think that you aren't enough. Your looks , your abilities, accomplishment, Your smile, weight, mental illness all these things in your life will be there accept to live with that fact. Embrace it and unleash your inner superhero.
